AMERICAN LUMBER EXOTIC HARDWOOD HIGHLIGHTS
Ipe is the most sought-after of the ultra-durable exotic hardwoods. It’s an incredibly beautiful, strong and stable wood that is not susceptible to rot.
What distinguishes Peconic Bay from all other Ipe is that we take the extra step of pre-sanding it for you. Because 'what looks better, sells better', you'll sell more Ipe when you stock Peconic Bay Ipe - it's as simple as that!
Many consumers already identify bamboo as a rapidly renewable, sustainable material. Bamboo has demonstrated undeniable appeal in areas from kitchenware to toys to interior flooring and surfaces as an environmentally friendly wood-alternative. dasso.XTR completes the picture by bringing bamboo to the home's exterior. dasso.XTR is natural, fast-growing bamboo fused into dense, durable exterior decking and siding products with the appearance of beautiful tropical hardwood.
Abaco Decking is the perfect solution for exotic-looking wood decks thanks to its beauty, hardness and durability. Abaco Decking naturally resists rot, decay and termites. Abaco is one of very few species that compares favorably with Ipe, and is similarly handsome with a smooth, tight surface and a redder tone.
As a less-recognized wood, it is available at a more competitive price point than Ipe. Abaco is available with one smooth face and one beaded face. The beaded face creates design opportunities while also providing the option of an anti-slip surface.
Batu is the most durable of the mahogany family, offering superior strength, resistance to decay, and consistency of appearance as compared to meranti, at a competitive price. It is the mahogany we strongly recommend for use on an exterior deck.
In Red River™, premium quality all-heart Red Meranti is enhanced with two coats of long-lasting Zero-VOC 'hybrid' decking stain to provide protection against moisture and sunlight. Shipped as 8'-20' even lengths only. Matching touch-up paint available.
American Lumber is a leader in supplying LEED-compliant FSC Certified wood. Not all tropical hardwoods are available FSC Certified, but we can help find a comparable species that is.
